Start with the essentials →

01 / The essentials

Start with your
own policy.

Do not assume that road insurance extends to driving on a circuit. Ask your insurer about the exact event, vehicle and drivers. Specialist track day policies can cover accidental damage to your car, but the terms and exclusions differ.

CHECK 01

The event and circuit

Give the provider the date, organiser, location and type of driving. Ask whether timing, competition or any particular circuit changes eligibility.

CHECK 02

Value, limits and excess

Confirm the vehicle value used, the maximum payout and the excess you would pay yourself. Declare modifications and every intended driver.

CHECK 03

What is excluded

Check damage to other cars, personal injury, mechanical failure, recovery and circuit barriers separately. Do not assume they are all included.

Before you book: read the policy wording and schedule, and get any unclear points confirmed by the provider. A quotation alone does not mean cover is in place.

03 / Common questions

A little clarity before the pit lane.

Is track day cover the same as road insurance?

No. Check your road policy for its circuit-use exclusions and ask the insurer whether your specific event is covered. Specialist track day insurance has its own scope, limits and conditions.

Will it cover someone else’s car if I cause a collision?

Do not assume so. Own-vehicle damage cover and liability to other people are different things. Ask specifically about third-party property damage and bodily injury, and read the exclusions.

What information should I have ready?

Prepare the vehicle make, model, value and modifications; driver details; and the circuit, organiser, date and event format. Tell the provider if any of those details change.

Can I buy insurance through this website?

No. This website provides general information and links to providers. We do not issue policies, provide personal insurance advice or collect quote requests. Arrange cover directly with your chosen provider.
